Victor Gama is also part of the FOLK SONGS TRIO with William Parker and Guillermo E. Brown having played since 2005 in such vebues as Tonic, New York, Galapagos (Broklyn), Culturgest (Lisbon), Serralves Foundation (Porto), Teatro Circo (Braga), TMG (Guarda), Teatro-Cine (Torres Vedras) and at the latest Glatt&Verkehrt Festival 07 in Krems, Austria. He was commissioned by The Tenment Museum to record a work for the Folk Songs for the Five Points project initiated by David Gunn. In Portugal he's recently toured in the north of the country having been at the brand new Teatro Municipal da Guarda, Casa das Artes de Famalicão and the renovated Teatro Aveirense as well as at the two recent editions of Serralves em Festa where he presented his new piece Aquarium Materialis with celebrated percussionist Pedro Carneiro.

Gama collaborates with Naná Vasconcelos and Kituxi on the Berimbau - Ungu project that was initiated by the Awesome Africa Festival in partnership with PangeiArt and took them on tour of Southern Africa to Luanda, Maputo and Durban in 2004.

As a regular composer for dance he has collaborated with the Newton Moraes Dance Theater in Bogota and Toronto performing live for the company.

He performes, exhibits his instruments and gives workshops throughout the world all year round in such centres as the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, SESC - São Paulo in Brazil, Ormeau Baths Gallery in Belfast, the Portuguese Cultural Center in Maputo, RASA in The Netherlands, Casa da Música, Porto and many others.

SOL(t)O, Gama's new performance is now touring from Cape Town this fall to Zaragoza in August 08

Gama's performances are cross-border and exploratory with a strong visual component, staged from large scale halls to smaller more intimate venues. Recently Gama has presented his performances with Pangeia Instrumentos in Toronto, New York, Belfast, London, Porto and Lisbon.
